Professor Craig Kirchoff will return to Melbourne in January 2011 to lead the ABODA Victoria Summer Conducting School. Kirchoff recently appeared in Melbourne as a keynote speaker and masterclass clinician during the 2009 Sounds Great! Statewide Music Education Conference. An American pedagogue and performing conductor, Kirchoff is the Professor of Conducting and Director of University Bands at the University of Minnesota.

The ABODA Summer Conducting School is a primary professional development opportunities for professional conductors in the southern hemisphere. Past attendees and observers have come from within Victoria, across Australia, and neighboring countries. The week-long course provides discussion, experience, and one-on-one and small group instruction in conducting technique, and video analysis of individual work.
